Midnight in Paris meets Night at the Museum! A gorgeous standalone forbidden romance with magical elements! Fall in love with The Muse, a sweeping romance set in a modern day Paris that’s full of magic, art, mysteries, and passion from #1 NYT Bestseller Lauren Blakely!

The first time a woman stepped out of a painting, I thought I was seeing things.
The second time, I thought I was going mad.
The night she emerged from a Renoir, I felt something else entirely — a deep stirring of desire, and the wish to get to know the brilliant beauty who’s been trapped inside a painted garden for years.
She can only come out at night in the Musée d'Orsay, where I work. There, after hours, we wander through galleries, with the Van Goghs, the Monets, and the Toulouse Lautrecs the only witnesses to our midnight kisses and, soon, our trysts.
She opens her heart to me, and I learn her story.
But she keeps secrets too, ones I hope to unravel. Why she was trapped. Why Renoir is hunting her. And why artwork in famous museums across the world is starting to disintegrate.
Why I, too, seem to be the only person who can repair the masterpieces.
As I fall deeper for the woman who’s trapped in a museum, I’m caught up in another side of Paris after dark, one inhabited by forgers, ghosts of famous artists and, impossibly, by Muses.
But someone is after the woman I’m falling in love with, and it’s up to me to save her…even if it means losing everything I’ve found with her.

🤔Strangely intriguing

I’m not sure what I just read. It was strange and weird yet it was interesting as well as intriguing. To be honest I tried several times to quit but I couldn’t. The reason I gave it three stars is because it’s not something that drew me in enough to want to read again. It wasn’t bad. It was strangely different. Different isn’t necessarily bad. This book wasn’t for me but I love many of Lauren’s other books. Until next time y’all happy reading.

A magical, mysterious romance with a twist!

Lauren Blakely never stops amazing me. She is truly a gifted writer and her personal background in art history made The Muse come to life. I loved Wanderlust and her recent best seller, My One Week Husband, both set in France, and The Muse takes us back to Paris, a place of wonder. I truly didn’t know what to expect because I am not a fan of paranormal or science-fiction, but am a huge fan of this author and with an open mind and an open heart, I dived into this enchanting book which is nothing short of magical. The author will completely sweep you away into another world when you enter the Musée d'Orsay, the art museum where our hero, Julien Garnier, an art student, works. I am so impressed with Blakely’s range, because as fast as she writes, her books are so well researched and are all dramatically different. I learn something from every one I’ve read and feel so cultured! I loved reading her vision of the old world art masters such as Renoir, Van Gogh, and Monet, just to name a few. Art comes to life at night and Julien is enchanted and totally smitten by Clio, featured in the “Woman Wandering in the Irises” painting. I don’t want to give too much away but trust in their journey and be swept away by this magical, passionate, inspiring fantasy romance.

A love story like no other

What a beautiful and very different kind of love story from Lauren Blakely. Read by the amazingly talented Shane East this was quite a treat in Audiobook. Set in Paris, this tale is so creative, magical, imaginative. passionate, whimsical and sweet. I do not want to give anything away but let’s just say it’s an experience like no other. Julien meets Clio at the museum he is interning at. What happens after that is otherworldly, beautiful, emotional and powerful and yes there is definite magic in play. Absolutely loved it.

Fun and whimsical!

A great artsy twist to a Night at the Museum style story. Julian and Cilo have electric chemistry and their banter is witty. Prepare for a whimsical journey in this unique storyline. Definitely worth the read

A Love So Amazing It Changes You

Julien is a University student and has an internship at the Art Museum Musee d’ Orsay in Paris. He starts noticing some of the paintings “subjects” coming out of their canvases at night having fun. A missing Renoir painting of “Woman Wandering In The Irises” will be arriving to the Museum soon and Julien feeling a connection to it already cannot wait to see it. When Julien meets Clio from “Woman Wandering In The Irises” they form an instant intense connection together. Julien, Clio and the help from incredibly fun friends uncover a curse on the Art in several Museum’s. Renoir wanted to keep good things from happening by trying to hoard inspiration, beauty, and love. But, a human Muse helps an artistic revolution that’s for everyone. A fun and sweet love story. I received an ARC for this book and this is my review.

A magical story!

The Muse is an exceptional story from Lauren Blakely. It is filled with mystics and fantasy and art and love. I loved seeing how Julien and Clio connected on such a level. It was more than just a true love kind of level but a deeper level that spans everything. It was magical reading these two together. There is a bit of mystery surrounding works of arts and while the story is about two soul mates discovering each other and falling in love, it is also about the world of paintings and artists. Lauren takes the reader on a wonderful journey exploring and falling in love-with both the arts and the characters. Julien and Clio were great and I also enjoyed the supporting cast surrounding them. The Muse was a fascinating read and I was immersed to see how it will all play out. It has true Lauren Blakely style and I felt happy by the end. I fell in love with everything. Such a lovely story!
